  • App Usage Data: We may collect general, non-identifiable usage statistics regarding how you interact with the App, which features you use, and performance data (e.g., crash reports). This data is used solely to improve the quality and stability of the App.
  • Device Information: We collect basic device information, including the type of device, operating system version, and platform (iOS or Android), which is necessary for troubleshooting and security validation.

C. In-App Purchase and Transaction Data (CRITICAL)

When you purchase a subscription through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Google):

  • We **DO NOT** collect or store your financial information, such as credit card numbers or banking details. This information is securely handled and processed exclusively by Apple or Google.
  • We collect the following transaction identifiers for validation:
    • The Product Identifier (e.g., com.afrocadet.pro_monthly_premium).
    • The Transaction Receipt or Purchase Token (serverVerificationData). This is a cryptographic token provided by Apple or Google that serves as proof of purchase.
    • The Platform (e.g., 'ios' or 'android').

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • **Service Provision:** To operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of the AfroCadet App, including providing you with secure account access and access to premium features if you subscribe.
  • **Subscription Validation and Management:** We send the Transaction Receipt or Purchase Token to our secure backend server for validation against the respective app store (Apple or Google). This is necessary to confirm your purchase, activate your subscription, and verify your ongoing premium access status.
  • **Security:** To protect against fraudulent transactions and unauthorized access to our services, and to secure your account credentials.
  • **Improvement:** To analyze usage trends and diagnose technical problems to improve the App's user experience and functionality.

4. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information with third parties as described below:

  • **Internal Use Only:** We do NOT sell, rent, or share your Email Address, Password/Credential, or User ID with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This information is strictly used for account management and security within the AfroCadet service.
  • **With App Store Platforms:** Your purchase data (receipt/token) is exchanged with Apple and Google via our secure server for the sole purpose of validating the transaction and verifying the subscription's status.
  • **Service Providers:** We may share anonymous or aggregated usage data with third-party service providers (e.g., hosting providers, analytics services) who need access to such information to perform services on our behalf.
  • **Legal Requirements:** We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures on both the client (App) and the server (Django backend) to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS) for all communication, especially when transmitting authentication tokens and purchase verification data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
